Senior Bioinformatics Engineer
Job Summary
As a full-time remote Senior Quality Bioinformatics Engineer, the successful candidate will develop automated test cases for quality control, analyze large-scale genomic data, and collaborate with engineers to ensure the accuracy and integrity of genetic insights delivered through genomic analysis pipelines.
Key responsibilities
- Develop automated test cases for quality control of new code deployments
- Write scripts and pipelines to analyze large-scale genomic data and detect errors
- Work closely with engineers and variant curators to improve workflows and catch issues before they reach production
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for genomic data analysis
- Experience with NGS pipelines, variant classification, and data validation
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and automation tools
- Experience with bug tracking and Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence
