Senior Build Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the Plex Media Server, the full-time remote Senior Build Engineer will work with the C++ codebase and manage the build and release pipeline, collaborating across teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment for various platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop features and fix bugs within the Plex Media Server C++ codebase while addressing technical debt
• Maintain and advance the build system and toolchain, ensuring reliable builds across all supported platforms
• Oversee the CI/CD pipeline in GitHub Actions, managing the entire process from building to release automation

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience with C++ in large codebases, along with proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, shell)
• Hands-on knowledge of build systems and dependency management, particularly with CMake and Conan
• Proven ability to manage a CI/CD pipeline end-to-end, with experience in GitHub Actions preferred
• Familiarity with cross-compilation and platform toolchains, including Clang/LLVM and MSVC
• Ability to collaborate across different teams and contribute to both application code and infrastructure
