Senior Category Manager

Job Summary

Driving strategic sourcing initiatives, the remote Senior Category Manager will oversee category management for external contract manufacturing, focusing on cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk mitigation within the biotech sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for external manufacturing sub-categories, including Drug Substance and Drug Product
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including supplier evaluation, negotiations, and contracting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure sourcing strategies align with technical and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or category management within biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Experience with external manufacturing services (CDMOs/CMOs) and understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Proficiency in strategic sourcing methodologies and supplier relationship management systems
• Strong project management capabilities with experience in managing complex sourcing initiatives
