Job Summary
To support a growing health system, the full-time Senior Certified Professional Coder will accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records, manage billing and collections for assigned client databases, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various patient types, including inpatient and outpatient records
- Review and analyze medical records for deficiencies, ensuring accurate documentation reflects diagnoses and procedures
- Abstract clinical data and verify patient account accuracy to support billing, reimbursement, and reporting processes
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years of coding experience in an acute care or medical office setting
- Nationally recognized coding certification such as CCA, CCS, or CPC
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices
- 2+ years of experience with electronic medical record systems
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and health information management procedures
