Senior Charge Description Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, the full-time Senior Charge Description Specialist will manage the Chargemaster maintenance process, act as a liaison between hospital ministries and the Revenue Integrity team, and provide training on charge capture improvements in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily Chargemaster maintenance workflow and ensure compliance with coding standards
• Respond to inquiries regarding Chargemaster issues and document policies and procedures related to CDM maintenance
• Collaborate with clinical departments and technology teams on projects impacting charge entry and interfaces

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of hospital chargemaster experience, including knowledge of inpatient and outpatient billing requirements
• 3 years of operational performance improvement or project management experience
• 5 years of experience with hospital EMR related to Chargemaster, preferably Epic EAP
• 3 years of experience with CDM maintenance tools/software such as Craneware, Vitalware, or nThrive
