Senior Cloud Database Administrator

Job Summary

Leading the lifecycle management of enterprise database platforms, the full-time Senior Cloud Database Administrator will oversee on-premises SQL Server and cloud-native services like Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Databricks, ensuring database availability, security, and performance in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Migrate on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure SQL Managed Instance and perform routine maintenance and performance tuning
• Administer cloud-native databases, including managing security, replication, and backup strategies across platforms
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automate database deployments using Infrastructure as Code practices

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in database administration with expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL
• Proven experience in migrating databases from on-premises to cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with Always On Availability Groups and SQL Server HA features
• Working knowledge of at least one cloud-native platform: Snowflake, Databricks, or PostgreSQL
• Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
