Job Summary
To support a dynamic remote team, the contract Senior Cloud DBA - PostgreSQL will administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases while leading migrations from Oracle and SQL Server to PostgreSQL and Databricks Lakehouse.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases, focusing on high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning
- Support Databricks Lakehouse and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using various technologies including PySpark and SQL
- Lead migration efforts from Oracle and SQL Server to PostgreSQL, converting code and ensuring data integrity
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Database Administration and Data Platform Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Administration and Databricks Lakehouse
- Expertise in Spark, PySpark, SQL, and performance tuning
- Proven experience in migrating from Oracle and SQL Server to PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with cloud PostgreSQL platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
