Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project, the full-time Senior API & Cloud Platform Engineer will design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and cloud-based integration services remotely, focusing on secure access to Department of Defense data.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for the Enterprise Data Access Service (EDAS) and TAG data products
• Define API contracts using OpenAPI specifications and implement secure, versioned APIs for enterprise interoperability
• Develop cloud-hosted application services on Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability and high availability

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience, with 8+ years in software engineering
• 5+ years of experience in developing RESTful APIs and cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure
• Strong expertise in REST APIs, OpenAPI, JSON, OAuth 2.0, and secure API design
• Proficiency in C#, Java, or Python, along with experience in Azure DevOps and cloud application development
• Demonstrated experience in designing scalable distributed systems and working within Agile teams
