Senior Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Proactively managing complex coding assignments, the full-time Senior Coding Specialist will review, assign, and abstract diagnostic and procedural codes for outpatient facilities while working remotely and supporting staff training and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows to prioritize coding tasks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Utilize coding classification systems to ensure accurate code selection and address documentation gaps
• Provide guidance to coding staff on complex scenarios and stay updated on coding regulations

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4 years of relevant work experience
• Certifications such as Certified Coding Associate or Certified Coding Specialist from AHIMA
• Advanced knowledge in medical professional and outpatient facility coding
• Understanding of medical terminology and documentation
