Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Coding Specialist with general surgery coding experience to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows to organize and prioritize complex coding work for compliance with regulatory requirements
• Utilize coding classification systems to ensure accurate code selection and reflect appropriate codes during patient encounters
• Identify documentation gaps or inconsistencies, initiating queries to clarify documentation for accurate code assignment

Required Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Certifications such as Certified Coding Associate or Certified Coding Specialist from AHIMA or AAPC
• Advanced knowledge in medical professional and outpatient facility coding
• Understanding of compliance regulations related to coding practices
