Senior Collateral Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Collateral Underwriter.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze residential and investment property appraisals for compliance with USPAP, AIR, and investor overlays
• Evaluate collateral on various Non-QM products and identify inconsistencies and valuation risks in appraisal reports
• Provide mentorship to junior collateral underwriters and participate in team meetings and training initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting with a focus on appraisal/collateral review
• Proficient knowledge of USPAP, FNMA/FHLMC guidelines, and Non-QM lending practices
• Strong experience evaluating a range of property types, including rural and complex appraisals
• Familiarity with LOS and appraisal platforms (e.g., Lending QB, Meridian Link, Encompass)
• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
