Job Summary
Leading integrated communications efforts, the full-time Senior Communications Manager will develop and execute strategic communications plans, manage public relations and media outreach, and create compelling content to support the organization's mission in clean transportation, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement an integrated communications plan that aligns with the organization's mission and initiatives
- Proactively secure media coverage and manage relationships with journalists while preparing press materials and coaching spokespeople
- Create high-quality content and oversee the production of multi-channel assets to effectively communicate successes and initiatives
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- 7-10+ years in communications, public relations, or related roles, with a strong preference for experience in automotive, clean transportation, or nonprofit sectors
- Experience promoting policy initiatives at the Federal, State, or Local level is required
- Demonstrated portfolio showcasing exemplary writing and storytelling abilities
- Strong media relations skills with a proven track record of securing coverage and managing crises
