Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support the promotion of scientific research and guidelines, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will develop strategic communication plans, manage media relations, and translate complex scientific information for public dissemination in a flexible, home-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement multi-year strategic communication plans for scientific manuscripts and clinical guidelines
• Develop news releases, media pitches, and multimedia assets to promote scientific research and the Association's initiatives
• Secure earned media coverage and cultivate relationships with journalists while supervising team members in Science Media Relations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five (5) years of experience in writing and editing, specifically translating scientific research for public audiences
• Five (5) years of experience managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five (5) years of project management experience, handling multiple projects concurrently
• Five (5) years of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
