Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support the promotion of scientific research and guidelines, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans, develop media materials, and cultivate relationships with journalists in a flexible, home-based position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement multi-year strategic communication plans to promote scientific manuscripts and clinical guidelines
• Secure earned media coverage and establish relationships with journalists to enhance the Association's visibility in cardiovascular science
• Supervise and mentor the Science Media Relations team while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on communication initiatives

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five years of experience in writing, editing, and translating scientific research for public audiences
• Five years of experience managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five years of project management experience, including handling multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
