Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To promote scientific research and enhance media relations, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans, develop media materials, and cultivate relationships with journalists while working in a flexible, home-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement multi-year strategic communication plans for scientific manuscripts and clinical guidelines
• Create news releases, media pitches, and multimedia assets to promote scientific research and the Association's initiatives
• Supervise the Science Media Relations team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize communication efforts

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five years of experience in writing and editing, particularly in translating scientific research for the public
• Five years of experience in managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five years of project management experience, including handling multiple projects concurrently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
