Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

The full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans to promote scientific research and guidelines, develop media resources, and secure earned media coverage while working in a flexible, home-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop news releases and media materials to promote scientific research and clinical guidelines
• Secure media coverage and cultivate relationships with journalists to enhance the Association's visibility
• Supervise and mentor team members while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on communication strategies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five years of experience in writing, editing, and translating scientific research for public consumption
• Five years of experience in managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five years of project management experience, including managing multiple concurrent projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
