Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time salaried capacity, the Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans to promote scientific publications and guidelines, develop media materials, and cultivate relationships with journalists to enhance the Association's visibility in cardiovascular and brain health.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication strategies for scientific manuscripts and abstracts, ensuring effective media coverage
• Collaborate with internal teams to create news releases, media pitches, and multimedia assets to promote scientific research
• Supervise and mentor team members while managing relationships with journalists and monitoring media landscapes for relevant news

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five years of experience in writing, editing, and translating scientific research for public consumption
• Five years of experience managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Five years of project management experience, handling multiple projects under tight deadlines
