Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support the promotion of scientific research and guidelines, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will develop strategic communication plans, create media materials, and secure earned media coverage while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Implement multi-year strategic communication plans to promote scientific manuscripts and clinical guidelines
• Develop news releases, media pitches, and multimedia assets to translate scientific research for media and public understanding
• Establish relationships with journalists and supervise the Science Media Relations team to enhance the Association's visibility in cardiovascular science

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five (5) years of experience in writing and editing, specifically translating scientific research for public consumption
• Five (5) years of experience in managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five (5) years of project management experience, handling multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
