Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support the promotion of scientific research and clinical guidelines, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans, develop media materials, and cultivate relationships with journalists in a flexible, home-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate news releases and media materials to promote scientific manuscripts and clinical guidelines
• Secure earned media coverage and establish relationships with journalists to enhance the Association's visibility in cardiovascular and brain health
• Supervise and mentor team members while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize communication strategies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five years of experience in writing and editing, specifically translating scientific research for public understanding
• Five years of experience managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five years of project management experience, including handling multiple projects concurrently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
