Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support the promotion of scientific research and clinical guidelines, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will develop strategic communication plans, manage media relations, and oversee a team while working in a flexible, home-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement multi-year strategic communication plans to promote scientific manuscripts and clinical guidelines
• Develop news releases, media pitches, and multimedia assets to translate scientific research for the media and public
• Secure earned media coverage and cultivate relationships with journalists to enhance the Association's visibility in cardiovascular science

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five (5) years of experience in writing and editing, specifically translating scientific research for public understanding
• Five (5) years of experience managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five (5) years of project management experience, including managing multiple projects concurrently
• Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
