Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support strategic communication initiatives, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement multi-year plans promoting scientific research and clinical guidelines, develop media materials, and cultivate relationships with journalists in a flexible, home-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop news releases and multimedia assets to promote scientific research and clinical guidelines
• Secure earned media coverage and establish relationships with journalists to enhance the Association's visibility
• Supervise the Science Media Relations team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize communication efforts

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five (5) years of experience in writing and editing, specifically translating scientific research for public understanding
• Five (5) years of experience in managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five (5) years of project management experience, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Five (5) years of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
