Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support the promotion of scientific research and guidelines, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans, develop media materials, and cultivate relationships with journalists, working in a flexible home-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop news releases and media pitches to promote scientific research and guidelines
• Collaborate with internal teams to review and select abstracts for promotion and produce related news materials
• Secure earned media coverage and establish relationships with journalists to enhance the Association's visibility in cardiovascular science

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five years of experience in writing and editing, specifically translating scientific research for the public
• Five years of experience managing media relationships and securing earned media coverage
• Five years of project management experience, including managing multiple projects concurrently
• Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office programs
