Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Communications Manager will implement strategic communication plans to promote scientific research and clinical guidelines, develop media resources, and secure earned media coverage while supervising a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication strategies for scientific manuscripts and clinical guidelines, translating complex research for media and public audiences
• Establish and cultivate relationships with journalists to secure media coverage, while monitoring media landscapes for relevant news
• Supervise and mentor team members, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize communication efforts

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five (5) years of experience in writing and editing, specifically in translating scientific research for public consumption
• Five (5) years of experience in managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five (5) years of project management experience, including the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
