Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support the promotion of scientific research and guidelines, the full-time Senior Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans, develop media resources, and cultivate relationships with journalists in a flexible, home-based role.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement multi-year strategic communication plans for scientific manuscripts and guidelines
• Secure earned media coverage and establish relationships with journalists to promote the Association's scientific initiatives
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize communication strategies and supervise members of the Science Media Relations team

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five years of experience in writing and editing scientific content for public dissemination
• Five years of experience managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five years of project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
