Senior Communications Manager

Job Summary

To support the promotion of scientific research and guidelines, the full-time Senior Communications Manager in Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans, develop media resources, and secure earned media coverage while working in a flexible, home-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement multi-year strategic communication plans for scientific manuscripts and clinical care guidelines
• Create news releases, media pitches, and multimedia assets to promote scientific research and the Association's initiatives
• Supervise a small team, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and mentor team members in media relations efforts

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Five years of experience in writing, editing, and translating scientific research for public understanding
• Five years of experience in managing media relations and securing earned media coverage
• Five years of project management experience, handling multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
