Senior Component Design Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Component Design Engineer will design solutions for reactor structures and components, coordinate inputs from engineering teams, and perform scoping analysis and calculations.

Key responsibilities

• Design reactor structures and components, including the rotatable plug assembly equipment, from requirements through final design
• Coordinate inputs and requirements from engineering and project teams to develop design solutions
• Assess the technical merit of solutions and lead design reviews while collaborating with equipment suppliers to resolve issues

Required qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of eight years of equipment/component design experience
• Extensive experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III and writing detailed design specifications
• Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and mechanical analysis tools like ANSYS
• Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
• Preferred experience with slewing ring bearings and elastomeric seals
