Senior Compute Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Designing and operating high-scale batch compute systems, the Senior Compute Platform Engineer will work either remotely or from Pittsburgh, PA, focusing on orchestrating and scaling distributed workloads while collaborating across teams to enhance platform capabilities.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and operate distributed systems for scheduling and executing large-scale batch workloads across Kubernetes clusters
• Build and maintain compute platform abstractions and optimize utilization of compute resources
• Collaborate with teams to improve platform capabilities and contribute to platform tooling, automation, and CI/CD workflows

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems or infrastructure platforms
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production-grade environments
• Proficiency in developing with Golang and Python
• Experience designing and operating large-scale batch compute systems
• Familiarity with at least one batch scheduling system such as Kueue, Armada, Volcano, or Slurm
