Senior Controls Engineer with PE License
Job Summary
Leading the design, testing, and commissioning of plant-level control systems for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects, the full-time remote Senior Controls Engineer with a PE License will provide technical leadership for Power Plant Controllers and Energy Management Systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement plant-level control logic for solar PV and BESS facilities, including developing control strategies for various operational parameters
- Develop and review dynamic controller models to support interconnection and controls validation activities
- Lead testing and commissioning efforts, including developing structured test plans and supporting factory and site acceptance testing
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a closely related field
- 5+ years of controls engineering experience, particularly with utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS facilities
- Experience with IEC-61131-3 control logic development in relevant PLC-based environments
- Working knowledge of PSS/E or PSCAD for controller modeling and validation
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
