Senior Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Counsel to provide legal expertise and advice on complex legal matters related to retirement plan recordkeeping and consumer directed health plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on recordkeeping, trust/custody, and compliance issues related to defined contribution plans
• Support plan administration issues and operational error corrections under IRS and DOL programs
• Collaborate with business groups to address legal issues and negotiate contractual arrangements with plan sponsors

Required Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of relevant legal experience
• Law Degree from an accredited university and a current license to practice law
• Expertise in qualified defined contribution plan types, including 401(a), 401(k), 403(b), and 457(b)
• In-house experience in financial services related to retirement plan operations is preferred
• Experience with consumer directed health plans is a plus
