Senior Counsel, Commercial (Licensed)

Job Summary

Leading negotiations and closing SaaS and AI agreements, the full-time Senior Counsel, Commercial (Licensed) will collaborate cross-functionally to achieve business objectives while navigating complex legal landscapes in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and finalize commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with risk parameters and business offerings
• Collaborate with various departments to facilitate high-impact negotiations and support a quota-driven sales team
• Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments, particularly in data privacy, security, and AI governance

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial contract experience in-house at a technology company or in a law firm specializing in technology agreements
• 3+ years of experience negotiating cloud-based service agreements with enterprise or regulated customers
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA
• Active license to practice law, and/or J.D. degree or equivalent experience in complex technology transactions
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning terms, including data ownership and responsible AI use
