Senior Counsel, Data Security

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Counsel, Data Security & Governance to provide legal guidance on data protection and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on global data protection, governance, and cybersecurity requirements
• Partner with Information Security to support governance of security programs aligned with industry standards
• Provide legal oversight for third-party risk management and support product teams with privacy and security guidance

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience in privacy, data protection, or cybersecurity
• Experience counseling cross-functional teams in technology-driven environments
• Familiarity with information security and governance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC 2)
