Senior Counsel, IP (US Licensed)

Job Summary

To support a growing legal team, the full-time Senior Counsel, IP (US Licensed) will own the strategy and development of the company's intellectual property function, manage the patent portfolio, and collaborate with scientists and engineers in a remote capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the patent portfolio end to end, including invention harvesting, filing strategy, and prosecution management
• Partner with scientists and engineers to identify patentable work and manage the invention disclosure process
• Run freedom-to-operate and clearance analyses to inform product strategy and serve as the IP voice in transactions

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree, with admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 7+ years of substantive intellectual property law experience, particularly in patent law
• Strong technical fluency to engage with PhD-level scientists and engineers
• Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments requiring rapid decision-making
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to translate legal concepts into business strategies
