Job Summary

Evaluating complex merchant credit opportunities, the remote Senior Credit Analyst will assess creditworthiness across Shopify Capital products, synthesize financial data, and provide clear recommendations while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate complex merchant credit opportunities, including loans and lines of credit
• Review financial statements and performance data to assess creditworthiness and repayment capacity
• Prepare well-supported application recommendations outlining key risks and decision rationale

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, commercial lending, or a related field
• Experience evaluating small business loans or credit products
• Strong credit judgment with the ability to make concise, defensible recommendations
• Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional credit or operational initiatives from problem definition through implementation
