Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Senior Cyber Security Engineer will leverage extensive experience in cybersecurity operations to protect Veterans' data and VA systems through regulatory compliance, strategic planning, and cross-functional leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce security policies while ensuring compliance with federal security standards and regulatory requirements
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation strategies to mitigate cyber threats effectively
• Collaborate with VA stakeholders to ensure adherence to FedRAMP and VA-specific security requirements

Required qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a Tier 5 background investigation
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, particularly within a federal or VA environment
• Proficiency in securing enterprise networks, cloud environments, and hybrid architectures
• Deep understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network security protocols
• One or more relevant certifications required, such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH
