Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project, the full-time Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will oversee security engineering, architecture, and compliance activities remotely while providing technical direction to security teams and ensuring adherence to federal security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead security architecture and engineering standards across complex enterprise environments
• Provide technical leadership to Information Systems Security Officers and Engineers, focusing on compliance and continuous monitoring
• Oversee risk assessments, security strategy, and vulnerability management while ensuring compliance with Zero Trust and federal security policies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience
• Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification
• Five years of security-engineering experience in Agile, DevSecOps, and cloud-based projects
• Extensive knowledge of ATOs, System Security Plans, and federal security policies
• Hands-on experience with application security testing and incident response architectures
