Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary

Passionate about incident response, the full-time Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will lead the response to security events, managing detection, triage, investigation, and recovery efforts while working remotely from New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage security incidents, driving them from detection through containment and eradication
• Conduct thorough investigations across systems, analyzing logs and data to understand and resolve incidents
• Proactively hunt for threats and enhance detection capabilities using the MITRE ATT&CK framework

Required qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of experience in security operations or incident response
• Strong skills in triage and root cause analysis across various log sources
• Hands-on experience with a SIEM, preferably Microsoft Sentinel and KQL
• Familiarity with EDR, advanced threat protection, and identity management
• Ability to communicate complex technical risks clearly to technical teams and leadership
