Senior Cytogenetics Technologist

Job Summary

To support a growing laboratory team, the full-time Senior Cytogenetics Technologist will perform and oversee cytogenetic testing, ensure specimen acceptability, and troubleshoot instrumentation while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper functionality

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 4 years or more of cytogenetics testing experience
• Understanding of laboratory operations and applicable policies and procedures
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficient with computers and familiar with laboratory information systems
