Senior Data Analyst

Job Summary

To support the Community Care Program Integrity initiative within the Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Data Analyst will serve as the primary analytics subject matter expert, performing SQL-based querying, data validation, and KPI monitoring while delivering actionable insights in a large-scale federal healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate operational reporting and decision-ready data products to program leadership and evaluation stakeholders
• Design and execute complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate structured data from VA enterprise data environments
• Develop and enhance KPI monitoring frameworks and interactive dashboards using tools such as Power BI or Tableau to track program performance

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data analysis, SQL-based querying, and operational reporting within large-scale enterprise analytics environments
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field; or 4 years of additional qualifying experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience supporting VA, VHA, DoD, or similar federal healthcare agency analytics programs with knowledge of healthcare data structures
• Ability to obtain and maintain VA network access and pass a VA background investigation
• Proficiency in at least one enterprise reporting or business intelligence platform, such as Power BI or Tableau
