Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of a modern data lakehouse, the full-time remote Senior Data Engineer will design, implement, and scale core components of the architecture, focusing on data modeling, ingestion, and query performance optimization using advanced tools such as Apache Spark and Snowflake.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and scale a high-performance data lakehouse on GCP, utilizing technologies like StarRocks and BigQuery
• Design, build, and optimize distributed query engines to support complex analytical workloads
• Develop and orchestrate robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow and GCP-native tools

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data or software engineering, specifically with distributed data systems and cloud-native architectures
• Proven experience building and scaling data platforms on GCP
• Strong command of query engines such as Trino, Spark, or Snowflake
• Experience with modern table formats like Apache Hudi or Iceberg
• Exceptional programming skills in Python and proficiency in SQL or SparkSQL
