Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely or in a hybrid capacity, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines and foundational data products to enhance the Healthcare Map and support analytics and AI/ML initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Build, operate, and optimize production data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Airflow, ensuring data quality and performance
• Design and scale data acquisition systems for complex public data sources and develop pipelines for data extraction and curation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate healthcare data needs into scalable technical solutions

Required qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with production-grade data pipelines in AWS
• Advanced skills in Python and SQL, with experience in Airflow or similar orchestration tools
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs and collaborate with engineering and product teams
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools for productivity and technical exploration
• Experience in optimizing data architectures for performance and cost is a plus
