Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support a federal data engineering team, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines on a cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) using AWS, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with enterprise standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop data retrieval processes from various external and internal sources, ensuring timely and accurate data storage
• Build and maintain ingestion pipelines using AWS services to process large datasets and prevent duplicate data loads
• Create comprehensive documentation for datasets, including business requirements, ETL design documents, and operational guides

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, particularly with AWS Glue, PySpark, and Python
• Experience building large-scale ETL pipelines in a FedRAMP-authorized environment
• Familiarity with multi-zone data lake architectures and file formats such as Apache Iceberg, Parquet, and Avro
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and agile federal environments
