Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a remote Senior Data Engineer, the candidate will develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, architect Spark-driven workflows, and build intelligent tooling to enhance data engineering processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines and backend workflows for Samsara's Data Platform
• Design and operate large-scale Spark and PySpark workflows for data processing
• Define data engineering standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on data or as a Data Engineer
• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark in production environments
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with cloud data warehouse experience
