Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on building innovative data platforms, the remote full-time Senior Data Engineer II will develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, manage data APIs, and design systems with an emphasis on AI-augmented engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and backend ingestion workflows for Samsara's Data Platform
• Design, build, and manage data APIs in Python and optimize API performance within AWS ecosystems
• Define and enforce data engineering standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve the enterprise data ecosystem

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer with a focus on data
• 8+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale, production-grade data pipelines
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark in a production environment
• 3+ years of experience developing and managing APIs, preferably in Python
