Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

As a technical lead on the Enterprise Data Platform team, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will build and operate scalable data pipelines and dimensional models using Databricks and dbt, ensuring the delivery of trusted data products for over 100 universities and colleges in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and dimensional models on Databricks, delivering timely data products
• Operationalize machine learning workflows using MLflow and ensure data governance through Unity Catalog
• Coordinate with offshore engineering teams, translating requirements and conducting quality checks on deliverables

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering on big data and cloud platforms, with 3+ years in Databricks (Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake)
• Proven experience delivering Kimball dimensional data models and strong proficiency in SQL and Python (PySpark)
• Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and Unity Catalog for governance
• Familiarity with the ML lifecycle and MLOps practices, including MLflow
• Experience in translating business and technical requirements into clear specifications and overseeing offshore teams
