Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely with occasional onsite participation, the contract Senior Data Engineer will design, implement, and maintain a flexible data architecture within a Microsoft Azure environment, focusing on fraud analytics and supporting audits and investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expertise in data-engineering methods and best practices
• Design and maintain secure, scalable data architectures and implement ELT/ETL pipelines
• Optimize data ingestion and processing while coordinating with data scientists for machine-learning support

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or five years of relevant work experience
• At least five years of hands-on experience maintaining SQL databases and conducting advanced SQL operations
• Five years of experience designing and maintaining ELT/ETL processes in cloud-based environments
• At least three years of experience working with Azure Synapse and Azure Machine Learning
• Three years of experience manipulating data using Python and Pandas
