Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
Supporting a Fortune 50 healthcare insurance organization, the contract-to-hire Senior Data Engineer will work remotely to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and reusable data assets for advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using modern distributed data technologies
- Develop production data solutions utilizing SQL, Python, and PySpark, while troubleshooting and enhancing existing pipelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable healthcare data solutions and ensure compliance with data governance practices
Required qualifications
- Senior-level experience in designing and supporting production data pipelines in a modern distributed data environment
- Strong production experience with Databricks Data Engineering, Spark, or Hadoop frameworks
- Proficiency in SQL and practical experience with Python and/or PySpark for data engineering tasks
- Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based source-control workflows
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, performance tuning, and data-quality validation
