Job Summary
Working remotely in a contract-to-hire capacity, the Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and reusable data assets for a Fortune 50 healthcare insurance organization, focusing on advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using modern distributed data technologies
- Develop production data solutions utilizing SQL, Python, and PySpark while optimizing existing data pipelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable healthcare data solutions and support AI-enabling data assets
Required qualifications
- Senior-level experience in designing and supporting production data pipelines in a modern distributed data environment
- Strong production experience with Databricks Data Engineering, Spark, or the Hadoop framework
- Proficiency in SQL and practical experience with Python and/or PySpark for data engineering tasks
- Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, performance tuning, and data-quality validation
