Job Summary
Supporting a Fortune 50 healthcare insurance organization, the remote contract-to-hire Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready healthcare data solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using modern distributed data technologies
- Develop production data solutions using SQL, Python, and PySpark, and enhance existing data pipelines for performance improvements
- Collaborate with lead engineers and data scientists on production healthcare solutions, ensuring compliance with data governance practices
Required qualifications
- Senior-level experience in designing and supporting production data pipelines in a modern distributed data environment
- Strong production experience with Databricks Data Engineering, Spark distributed computing, or the Hadoop framework
- Proficiency in SQL and practical experience with Python and/or PySpark for data engineering tasks
- Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based source-control workflows
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing concepts, and data governance practices
