Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
Supporting a Fortune 50 healthcare insurance organization, the contract-to-hire Senior Data Engineer will work remotely to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and reusable data assets for advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using modern distributed data technologies
- Develop production data solutions with SQL, Python, and PySpark, while troubleshooting and optimizing existing data pipelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable healthcare data solutions and ensure compliance with data governance practices
Required qualifications
- Senior-level experience in designing and supporting production data pipelines in a modern distributed data environment
- Strong proficiency in Databricks Data Engineering, Spark distributed computing, or the Hadoop framework
- Proficient in SQL and practical experience using Python and/or PySpark for data engineering tasks
- Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data governance practices, especially in regulated environments
