Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and architecture, the fully remote Senior Data Engineer will ensure the reliability and structure of data for marketing analytics, focusing on building a centralized semantic layer using Microsoft Fabric.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and backend queries for the semantic layer, ensuring proper separation of data layers
• Own the end-to-end data modeling and architecture of the semantic layer, including its structure and refresh behavior
• Serve as the technical point of contact for downstream consumers, addressing issues and conducting root cause investigations

Required Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills, including T-SQL, for writing and debugging production analytical queries
• Proficiency in Python for building and maintaining data transformation notebooks
• Experience with DAX, including measure authoring and performance tuning
• Demonstrated experience managing a large, centralized semantic model or equivalent analytical data product
• Ability to make and defend architectural decisions independently to both technical and business audiences
